Spotlight Talks to… Milly Meyer

We’ve been talking to Milly Meyer, proud new owner of Milly’s Beauty Room, based in her home, garden studio.

So Milly, we’d love to know all about your new venture! Tell us about the treatments you’re offering to your current and future clients…

I provide a range of treatments including lash lifts, manicures, pedicures, waxing as well as many others. I’m based in Ravenswood, East Ipswich, and have many current clients that I have been visiting as a mobile beautician. Now I’m able I would love to expand my clientele and have them visit my beautiful, new, garden-based salon.

Since starting your business, how have you been engaging with new customers? We understand it’s been am extremely difficult time during lockdown, especially for someone in your field of work… How have you adapted to survive during this time?

I actually started this business due to being made redundant during lockdown. Of course due to Covid-19, I cannot offer all the treatments I’m usually able to. I’m very aware of the government guidelines, and am doing my utmost to adhere to these to keep myself and my clients as safe as possible.

I’ve really relied on social media to promote my business so far, as well as word of mouth. However I’m also looking at other ways of advertising – I’m hoping you’ll be able to help!

What aspects of your business do you believe you need to improve in order to be more competitive, and what gives you confidence for the future of your business?

I am continually improving by attending courses, in fact I will be attending a lash extension course later this month! I am always motivated and I have a lot of passion for my business, but am aware I need to constantly appeal to potential, new clients. I love what I do and I have confidence in myself that I’ll be here very long term!
