Inspire Suffolk is sending out a festive invitation, calling for everyone to pull on their favourite Christmas socks and ‘wear yours for a good cause’.
Santa’s Sock Day is Inspire Suffolk’s Christmas-themed fundraising event returning to Suffolk for another year to raise money for young people who are struggling to find their way in life.
Inspire Suffolk, a self-funded charity, are asking for you to donate £1 and show off your loudest and proudest Christmas socks on all your social media platforms.
Sara Warburton, the events and fundraising officer at Inspire Suffolk, explained: “Santa’s Sock Day is a great way to help young people within our community while also having a bit of fun!”
Although a pound doesn’t seem like much, a few donations can go a long way when helping young people find their footing in the world and we could all do with more cheer after this year.
Sara explains: “Every penny really does make a difference, especially with the way the world is at the minute. Many young people have been affected by the pandemic and they need us more than ever. By taking part, you’ll be having a direct influence on changing their lives for the better.”
Sara, and her team at Inspire Suffolk, are asking for businesses and schools in the local area to sign up and help their cause, though everyone can take part.
When you do get involved, be sure to take a picture of your socks, post them on social media and use @inspiresuffolk so that Sara and her team can see and share all their favourites.
Charley Keveren, senior marketing executive at Inspire Suffolk said: “We always enjoy seeing what people wear on the day! Last year social media was full of people posing in their colourful socks. It’s just lovely to see everyone coming together to support our work.”
Sara also added: “The feel-good factor is twofold because not only are people having fun doing it, but they can be sure that that pound they’ve donated is going to make a difference in a young person’s life.”
Santa’s Sock Day is wrapping you up warm on the 10th December so be sure to head to their website linked below to find out more and let’s raise some money for a good cause. If you’re a business or school looking to sign up, be sure to email Sara to get involved: saraw@inspiresuffolk.org.uk.
