Memorial Dart Event In aid of Bobby’s Wish and St Elizabeth Hospice in memory of Sally Bird

We need players, sponsors, donations and community support!

Sunday 20 March at Trimely Dock Social Club

Arrive at noon for registration, toe to the oche at 1.15pm

Nine-year-old Bobby, a local lad and an inspiration to everyone he meets, is on end-of-life care. He has severe epilepsy, visually impaired and is dependent on oxygen opiflow 24 hours a day. Bobby also has chronic lung disease, which means his access to the local community is extremely limited as the risks are too high. His dedicated family meets his everyday needs with some support from carers as well as help from the hospice when needed. This fundraising day is the first of a series of events planned to help realise Bobby’s dream of visiting Disney World, Paris with his parents and siblings before his illness makes it impossible for him to do so.

This event will also raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice in memory of Michael Bird’s mum. Sally, who sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, held the hospice close to her heart because of the work they have done for various family members and friends. Therefore, Michael would love to donate some money to the hospice. Sally was only 56 and has left a family behind.

We are now looking for local businesses to either sponsor a dartboard for £50 or to donate a raffle prize. Sponsors will be invited to put up banners and/or posters and to distribute flyers and business cards. As we will be having a tournament on the day, sponsors can expect players, their families and the general public to attend in significant numbers. With pub cards and a signed t-shirt from a famous dart player at auction, this really is an event for all ages.

A number of stalls have been confirmed, including The Body Shop, and additional requests are welcomed. In fact, any and every offer of support will be welcomed and if you can help or would like to pitch an idea, please contact Emma Ellis at 07967 038164 or emmaellis@hotmail.co.uk.

Whether you can sponsor a board, donate a raffle prize or be there on the day to enjoy the darts and the atmosphere, your support will mean a lot to Bobby’s and Sally’s families.

If you’d like to play, the event is open to all abilities. The registration fee is a meagre £5. The winner will receive a cash prize. All are welcome; please contact Keith Wright on 07734 437445.
