Matthew Good Foundation Presents £1997.60 to the Lions Club of Felixstowe

The Lions Club of Felixstowe has received £1997.60 from the Matthew Good Foundation in recognition of its services to the town in 2020.

The Matthew Good Foundation is a charitable fund run by the John Good Group. It was set up by Tim Good, director of John Good & Sons, in the memory of his brother Matthew Good, who passed away in 2011 whilst taking part in a marathon for charity.

The family business donates money to the Matthew Good Foundation each year allowing the staff of John Good Group to apply and support many charitable causes in the UK and around the world.

Towards the end of last year, the foundation ran a Champion Grant whereby anyone working for the company could apply for money to go towards a project, community work or a local club. Dave Cole (pictured presenting the cheque to Richard Woolnough, president of Felixstowe Lions Club) successfully applied for the grant to help support Felixstowe Lions as most of last year’s fundraising were cancelled.

The company has also agreed to match the total raised by a pig ace event held by the Lions last February, before lockdown struck. Discussions to decide which local charitable causes should benefit from this kind donation are in progress.
