Gardens across region open to public as part of Great Garden Trail 2022

From Woodbridge to Leiston through to Felixstowe and Stowupland a number of gardens across the region are opening for the public to visit and enjoy this summer in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice as part of its annual Great Garden Trail.

Now in its sixth year, the 2022 Great Garden Trail is being held from April to September, featuring a great variety of gardens supported by whole villages as well as beautiful hidden gems for the public to explore in return for a donation to St Elizabeth Hospice.

Lesley Rawlinson, Community and Partnerships Fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “On behalf of the hospice team I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to all the gardeners who have joined us this year and hope the Great Garden Trail 2022 proves to be a great success.

“This is the sixth year we have been running the Great Garden Trail, but every year it is a real privilege to see the fantastic green fingered skills of gardeners throughout the county.

“The trail is much loved by hospice supporters, who enjoy visiting the gardens for a day out and to also take inspiration and tips to bring back to their own gardens. So do make sure to visit our website to see a full list of gardens taking part in this year’s trail or visit your local St Elizabeth Hospice shop to pick up a trail map to ensure you don’t miss out.”

In total 24 locations will feature in this year’s trail, from solo gardens to communities opening together for the public to explore this summer, including Roydon Hall, Woodbridge Open Gardens, Playford Hall and Columbine Hall.

Kate Elliott, the Head Gardener at Columbine Hall, said: “We are proud to take part in St Elizabeth Hospice’s Great Garden Trail. The team from the hospice are so friendly, helpful and organised and it’s a pleasure to share the gardens here with such lovely visitors and all for such a great cause.

“Each garden taking part on the trail are wonderful and so different from each other, to visit one you come back full of new ideas and inspiration – go visit as many as you can.”

A full list of locations and dates of the gardens taking part in the trail can be found by visiting, as can details regarding entry and tickets.
