Felixstowe & Villages Carers Group

We are a group of carers who look after a family member or friend. We meet for relaxation, friendship and to gain helpful information about caring. New members are welcomed.

We had a lovely meeting in March. Rebecca Garnet, a researcher from Oxford University, presented a short survey for care recipients and their informal carers exploring their views on the way in which doctors prescribe medications.

Following this, Izzy Ixer gave us a relaxing chair-based yoga session. This included exercises to improve posture and breathing, and Izzy also showed us how to gain better balance and strengthen our legs with simple exercises.

At our next meeting on Monday 17 April, 1-3pm at Old Felixstowe Community Centre, Ferry Road, Felixstowe IP11 9NB, Sally Reed, Family Carer Neighbourhood Adviser for Felixstowe, will tell us about the services they offer to carers. Entry costs £3 (includes hot drinks and a raffle) and parking is available.
