Felixstowe Spa Pavilion – ‘Cinderella’ DVD & Download Now Available

Felixstowe’s Spa Pavilion Theatre have devised a way for you to experience the magic of Panto like never before, with the release of DVD and download versions of their highly acclaimed production ‘Cinderella’. This is a brand new pantomime from the much-loved Dennis Lowe Theatre Company, who have been performing in Felixstowe for more than 50 years. The show enjoyed huge success with its first few performances – before the run was sadly curtailed by Suffolk’s move to Tier 4 on Boxing Day.

With a wave of a magic wand (or a DVD remote will do!) … people all over Suffolk and beyond can now enjoy tremendous fun for all the family – joining Cinderella, her sidekick Buttons, and all the colourful characters she meets along her journey. This is a pantomime like no other: A fast-paced combination of traditional panto and musical, with something for all ages and tastes. Penned by Suzie Lowe and co-writer Dean Wales, the show is peppered with clever topical jokes, wonderful dance routines and uplifting songs.

In this most unusual of times, ‘Cinderella’ brought a little festive sparkle to Felixstowe, during the short time that The Spa was able to operate on a socially-distanced basis at the end of 2020. After 9 months of darkness, it was truly magical to have Cinderella light up the stage, and bring back the joy of live theatre. This filmed performance perfectly captures the spirit of the show, which was pronounced by one audience member to be “The perfect cure for the Covid blues!”

Ryan Cope plays the formidable Wicked Stepmother – with a commanding stage presence, and jokes just as outlandish as her costumes! Courtney Yule and Lexi Ablitt are a hilarious double act, playing the Ugly Sisters (Listen out for their names – they’ve been re-christened especially for 2020!). Natasha Stevenson plays the Fairy Godmother – who may be soft and sweet, but has an incredibly powerful singing voice! Dermot Gardiner is a suave, sensitive Prince Charming, and plays off superbly well against his loyal servant, Dandini (portrayed by the talented Ashley Betts). Wade Ablitt is Buttons, with excellent comic timing and an infectious sense of fun. And not forgetting, of course: Cinderella herself – Perfectly played by Aimee Salmon. Aimee has a beautiful voice, and we can think of no-one better to step into those glass slippers!
