Chatter and Pandemonium – an Exhibition at 142 Gallery 

Stunning art pieces can be enjoyed at 142 Gallery, 142 Hamilton Road, Felixstowe IP11 7DS from 28 April to 4 May, where Mandy Renton (a.k.a Budgerigardener), will be exhibiting her work as part of Chatter and Pandemonium – an aviary of pet birds, parrots and other beaky blinders. If you’d like to meet the artist, Mandy will be at 142 Gallery on 28 April from 6-8pm. 

“I am an artist who paints birds, and am a little different in that I specialise in budgies and other pet birds,” says Mandy. “I am still relatively new to the area having moved to Ipswich from Brighton last year, and I’m hoping to connect with local bird owners who may not yet know my work.”

It is hoped the exhibition will prompt visitors to re-evaluate how they perceive caged birds and also highlight some of the welfare and environmental issues affecting their wilder counterparts. 

Mandy said: “I have recently raised funds for https://www.cockatoosanctuary.org/, a local cockatoo rescue organisation based near Stowmarket, and am hoping to raise their profile and help them gain more sponsorship by including some educational information alongside my cockatoo art, including this new piece, It Takes Too.
