Beryl Churchman Osteopathy

Beryl Churchman Osteopathy is here to help you with a wide range of common musculoskeletal conditions and, with over 29 years of experience, you can be sure that you’re in safe hands.

Beryl Lansdown, owner of the Beryl Churchman Osteopathy in Felixstowe and Ipswich, didn’t know what she wanted to do when she was younger, only certain of the fact that she wanted to do something in the medical field.

In her last year of school, she attended a careers convention and spotted a gentlemen behind a stall on his own. Beryl started talking to him and found out that he was an osteopath, the leaflet her gave her inspired her to peruse that career path in osteopathy and she’s never looked back since.

Beryl’s medical journey started in a room in her parents house before moving to a GP surgery and finally settling in a room located in Vincent Grace Hair Design, where she operates as well as her home practice.

For those not in the know, Osteopathy is a hands-on treatment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal system, meaning anything from back pain to muscle injuries. Using a variety of different techniques, Osteopathy can help your body’s own healing mechanisms.

Beryl said: “My patients vary greatly, the youngest person I have treated was only a few days old and the oldest so far is 96! I have people with manual jobs and those who are desk bound, it provides me with plenty of variety during my working day. I like to think that I provide an honest and professional service with a personal touch.”

Now, 30 years into being an Osteopath, Beryl has experienced the damage that Covid has caused, initially not being able to work during the first lockdown eventually being able to reopen again. She wants to reassure everyone that she always wears her full PPE in appointments and that the room she operates from has been stripped and cleaned.

Despite the added safety measures, Beryl is very exited to get back to what she loves doing most, stating: “I love my job and enjoy going to work everyday. I like the fact that I am able to help people, for some people I am their last hope and sometimes that pays off and can make a huge difference to their lives, it is wonderful to be a part of their journey.”
