VOLUNTEER SUFFOLK : Uniting volunteers with charities that need their help

Volunteer Suffolk, part of Community Action Suffolk offers a free service to enable those interested in volunteering to find roles within charitable organisations that need their help.

If you would like to get into volunteering and have a few spare hours or regular time each week, there will be a charity on there that will really welcome your help. Go to www.volunteersuffolk.org.uk for a huge range of volunteering opportunities within Suffolk. The site also helps with volunteering roles that can be fulfilled through Employer Supported Volunteering where companies allow staff to assist charities away from their paid employment.

Whatever your skills, there will be something you could do to help, from community gardening, helping to get Suffolk reading through the National Literacy Trust, befriending someone feeling isolated, volunteering for the First Light Festival or making a difference in your local community by litter picking. For those wanting to get involved but not face-to-face, there are remote opportunities too.

Volunteer Suffolk is also active on social media promoting volunteer roles that are available around the county.

Chris Abraham, Community Action Suffolk’s, Chief Executive, explains: “Volunteer Suffolk is a wonderful free resource for the county and there is an incredible range of opportunities to help through volunteering as more and more community activities fully reopen and services are facing increased demand.”
