Felixstowe Town Pastor Information Evening

The Mental Health Toolkit

On the theme ‘Heart for the Community,’ Felixstowe Town Pastors will cover some interesting topics at this year’s information and training evenings for anyone wanting to find out more about certain challenging subjects.

‘The Mental Health Toolkit’ run by Suffolk Mind will be the topic of our first in-person information evening for 2022 at Christ Church, Felixstowe (Grange Farm Avenue, IP11 2XD) on Monday 16 May from 7.30-9pm.

We know the pandemic has had a significant impact on some people’s mental health. As the Town Pastors go out on the street, they encounter a wide range of people from various walks of life, some of whom are affected by mental health issues.

What is ‘The Mental Health Toolkit?’

This is an introduction to emotional needs and resources, helping you to look after yourself and those around you. Jon Neal from Suffolk Mind will introduce the approach the charity takes to mental health, enabling a wider understanding of how stress and mental ill-health can occur. The session will include practical tips and tools to enable you to communicate with people who might be in distress, and to calm tense situations.

This session is for anyone wanting to find out more about how to communicate effectively with someone affected by mental health issues or how you can help yourself maintain good mental health.

This evening is open to anyone to attend and is free. We will need to know how many people will attend, so please register your place by me at: coordinator@felixstowetownpastors.org.uk

Do come along if you are interested; it would be great to see you.

In our other training and information evenings this year, we will cover areas such as child exploitation, domestic violence, homelessness and trafficking.
